I noticed some differences between these two box designs. The B-380 or JBl Cabinet # 8 from their enclosure guide http://www.jblpro.com/pub/manuals/enclgde.pdf
Cabinet 8 seems to be a generic 15" sub enclosure. I see 2 or 3 drivers as working with this box set up. Is this more of a "Catch -all" design rather driver specific ? Would the B-380 yield better subwoofer results ?
Thanks to all you acoustic geniuses out there. I am more of a circuit guy.

I guess that is a subjective call. Personally I would go with the "generic" alignment. These BBP6 simulations compare the projected response of the 2235H in the "generic" alignment shown in red and the B380 shown in Blue. The B380 has slightly less output in the ~30-60Hz region... not too significant but there is a difference. To me the power curve is more significant. If you are after 20-25Hz the B380 will offer significantly greater output capability yet above that the 2235H becomes displacement limited until about 45Hz.

Realistically they will both work quite well. The generic alignment is best for all round performance and the B380 allows the 2235H to plumb the depths of low bass.
