between them? Just opened up two boxes, one 2370 and one 2370A. I am familiar with the 2370A, this one with a 2370 label looks quite different on the exterior, first glance did not show much difference in internal geometry.

Huh, that's interesting... a 2370 that is built like a 2370A. The 2370 I'm familiar with, is a multi-cellular flare, as shown here:

Guess they retained that number for the newer casting for awhile, before changing over to the 2370A nomenclature...

If I remember correctly, the designation change was when JBL changed vendors on the plastic; the original formula was a bit brittle and used to crack at the mounting holes or sometimes at the throat. They later changed to a slightly more durable polyurethane. Other than that I believe they are identical.

It is just the plastic they are made from as Eric said. All of the flat front series of horns without the "A" are made from a thicker harder plastic.
