I am currently working on a show that's using VerTec speakers, so I thought I'd look up some detail on what's actually in the boxes. According to the literature, they use 2106H (5.5") and 2104H (4") in the VT4888 and VT4887 respectively.

Does anyone know anything about these drivers? They could make some nice midranges for my next project.

Cheers, Ralph.

i know it's an old thread (not as old as me ...), but here's what i've learned about the 2106H (from ripping one apart):

- DC resistance is about 5 ohms (measured before dissection)
- Voicecoil inductance is about 0.2mH (measured at 1kHz, before dissection)
- Voicecoil diameter is 2"
- Voicecoil winding depth is about 9mm
- Magnetic gap depth is about 6mm
- Classic JBL "SFG" : T-shaped pole piece, with a thick aluminum ring (flux stabilization) tucked tightly around the pole
- No copper in sight (no copper cap or ring) for separate inductance control
