I m a new member to the group and I am really glad I found you guys. You see I’m in the middle of restoring a set of L100s that I bought new in 1978. At that time they were being discontinued and I got the pair for $478.00. For the last 28 years they have been with me through thick and thin. I recently decided to give the Centuries a makeover and purchased a set of RBH 1044-SEs in their place. I pulled the L100 drivers and this is what I got:
# 306996 A
Woofer 123A-3 # 122786
Midrange LE5-2 # 357433
Tweeter LE25
# 307314 A
Woofer 123A-3 # 103699
Midrange LE5-2 # 364380
Tweeter LE25
Everything seemed to go well until I tried to clesn up the old foam rings on the LE25s. Not realizing the leads to the tweeter were two very fine wires under the foam I managed to break all the leads. Can these be repaired? The tweeters worked fine untill I got a hold of them.
Other areas of concern:
I would like to replace the binding posts on the back. Any suggestions?
Where can I purchase new foam rings for the LE25s?
I have been trying to get in touch with Sonofagun for new foam grilles. So I hope he reads this thread and gets back to me.
I've been a woodworker for the past 31 years and refinishing the cabinets is not much of a problem. But a techician I'm not. So thanks in advance for any help you may have to offer.
