Hello members of this forum,

could I change a 035ti tweeter against a 052ti model in the studio monitor 4410 ( not 4410A ), without network modification? I think, the 052ti has a smoother upper range reproduction.

- I don't really know the answer to that - but - ( after looking at the 2 schematics ) I see that when the "A" version was introduced : JBL swapped the 052ti for the originals' 035ti and substituted fixed resistor Lpads for variable types and;

- Most significantly ( I think ) , JBL added another pole ( a 6uf capacitor from the looks of it ) into the hipass portion for the UHF tweeter. This added "pole" might of been for increased power handling , OTOH it might have been added to deal with a possible midrange peak from the cheaper 052ti. They also changed the tweeters' hipass inductors' value from .2mh to .18mh.

- ie ; that 052ti might not actually be smoother sounding - you might just be formulating your opinion on its' sound because of a crossover that went from 12db to 18db per octave .

:cheers:

Here's a link to JBLs' Network Schematics (http://www.jblproservice.com/navigation/Network%20Schematics.html) . The 4410A is listed but the 4410 is not .

Hi Earl,

thank you for your fast reply. I will replace it with a pair of new 035Tia tweeters.
