My 4343 are almost finished now but I still missing the baffle mounted plates.
Could any of you lucky 4343 Owners please send me a HQ Picture or even better a scan of these plates? I have the option to let them fake by a local printer.
Any help would be appreciated as it is nearly impossible to get these plates.

Thank you!!!

Guido, I doubt you will get these new. JBL Pro parts would be the only chance. You may find, if you wait long enough, parts from 4343s where these "plates" may be included.
In the mean time I'll photgraph one of mine and e-mail you a hi res. image.
Send me your e-mail address.

Guido is in Europe so the phone call might be a bit pricey and time differences a problem.

I will try to call Monday morning and post the results. If anyone in the Greater LA Smog Basin has a chance to call please do as I am notoriously easily sidetracked.

BTW Guido and Tom, I am still planning on getting that artwork created for the 4343 Studio Monitor badge after the 25th.

I sent the photo of the foilcal plate directly to Guido. I can't seem to sucessfully post to this forum. Perhaps Guido could post what I sent him to show you exactly what we are talking about.

I try now to fake it with a local graphic designer and printing shop. When we are succesful I will let you know but it will take a little time.

Bastards...
That was from the June 2003 list too...

There is just a whole slew of stuff that has suddenly gone bye-bye. Harman must have had another trashcan party like they did a few years ago...

ooops, I'm not supposed to let that one out...

Bastards...

Guido, I didn't actually see it happen with your level plates but I am brutally aware that Harman does clean house when they get tired of paying for storing, shipping, and doing inventory on old product year after year after year.

California businesses pay tax every year on the value of thier inventory.

I had someone at JBL Pro tell me that they periodically throw out "obsolete" items due to inventory and tax concerns!
Why can't they sell these on the "Tent Sale" or let us know on ther Forum?
It's frustrating!

What would really be nice is if they would just send the stuff to their Service Center network! Or at least post the lists of parts facing impending doom so Dealers and Service Centers could snag them before they were tossed in the trash. I can't imagine any Service Center not willing to pay the shipping.

Guido: I am currently restoring a pair of 4343's and the baffle legend plates are off and laying on my desk. If you would like I can 200-300 dpi scan them tomorrow and get you the file. Will give you the necessary resolution to have them made. Regards - Rick

In response to Guido's request I scanned a 4343 baffle legend plate and posted it in a web file for him to retrieve. It's a 300 dpi scan, file size 1.24 meg. Will leave it there for another day or so then take it down. If anyone else is interested, fetch it and store it on your desktop. Does anybody out there have a good silk screener who can make this and similar label plates for JBL restorations. I have several scanned and filed away awaiting a source. Thanx

I do have a good scan of the label for the 4350B but not the 4350. Have not been willing to try removing a label from a good speaker just to get the scan. The 4350B label scan is available to anyone who needs it. The right side of the label is the same for both 4350 and 4350B except for the addition of the B , and of course the serial number range is different between the two models. The left sides (black) are totally different. I have a fairly closeup pic of the 4350 label. The scale of attenuation is totally different along with the descriptive wording. Both labels are the same physical size. Anyone with good skills in Photoshop could make the changes to my 4350B scan and have a very good scan for the 4350. Let me know. Rick
