what are the crossover points for the JBL Hartsfield crossover (3 way- 2405, 376/2441, 2220h). better yet, what is the schematic for this crossover? :banghead:

Commonmode,

The Hartsfield crossover was 500 Hz with a first order LF and second order HF band pass. It was originally designated N500H, later changed to N400 with the exact same circuit elements.

My Hartsfield has a N500H and I have compared the circuit with the schematic of the N400 in the Paragon and in the later Hartsfield. Exactly the same.
I think Lansing used the natural roll off of 6 dB per octave with the horn loaded LF unit and felt that 12 dB per octave was not necessary.

Anyone care to chime in on this?

Heres a little known mod from the factory to install a 5 position attenuation switch.

Parts required are the switch and resistor network.

Not sure why Altec Lansing is the vendor of the parts.Perhaps they used this N500E crossover in some of there speaker systems

Where did you get the resistor and switch? If you removed them from a crossover, how did you get them so clean? Are there any values listed on the resistor? Thank you. Reed

Parts are new and came from a Hartsfield acquisition that I encountered.

Take a look see at the attached schemetics. They will tell you the resistor values.

I honestly doubt that these specific parts are still availiable BUT you could search for substitutions that would work.

Good Luck,Oldmics
