L60T to "quasi" 4315/L212?

OK, I'm just kicking around an idea for rearranging some drivers I have, since I picked them all up real cheap and thought this might be fun. The end result being 4-ways, with 12" LF, 8" low-mid, 5" hi-mid, and 035TI HF. These would be to take the place of my L150's, which a forum member almost has me talked into selling to him...

Starting with the L60T's, I've also got a pair of 104H-2's and a pair of L100T3 crossovers, (crossover mods necessary?). So that would take care of the of the low-mid, (116H-1 OK?), hi-mid and HF. My big question is, what would be the most likely, (as in regularly available), candidate for 12" LF? 2203's would be great, but likely unobtainable. Same for 2214's. Maybe 128H? Would the LF section of the 4315A crossover be appropriate?

I have to admit I'm not real familiar with all the various 12" LF models, and would likely be limited by budget to stuff that appears on eBay, so I'd like to know what to look for. I'm not in a big hurry, since I've already got a couple other projects going, so I can wait until the right drivers come up, at least for a while.

Or should I leave the L60T's alone, and just go for adding separate subs? I really like the idea of adding the 104H-2's and having everything in one cabinet, but if they won't add that much for mids over the 116H-1's, maybe it isn't worth it...

First you should consider wanted frequency range and acceptable physical dimension of the enclosure.

As far as I know lower fs value of the driver and larger enclosure means you can make the speaker produce some really low frequencies at high quality.

So - look through the t/s parameters and you'll find the models of your choice.

Thanks Zilch! Somehow I missed that one. So what I'd end up with is basically an L100T, (/3 without the TIA) - 'think the addition of the 8" 116H-1 would be beneficial?

The 12's are hit or miss on ebay I have 122A's 128H-1's and 2214's and have used them all in my XPL-200 clones over the last couple of years. The 122A's are up there quite a bit with Jubals gutted to part out the 077's. 128 and 2214 are there but you usually pay a bit more for them. I tried L-80T3 stacked on Le-14 as a poorman's L250 and it didn't sound all that bad. Used a 300hz passive network. Used under them with the PE subwoofer amps they were actually very nice. Out off the 12's I have tried the Le-14A/H, a 12 on steroids, is the best for lowend. I think you could set-up the L60T with 104H's and something like a 4410 crossover so you have the potentiometers. You could try the L100T but I think the padding would be wrong so you would have to adjust or see if you can get a pad worked into them. Then drop the Le14's under them as subs or go for another poormans L250 set-up and try a 300Hz or so crossover. I would build boxes for the "experiment" and leave the L60 cabinets as they are.

'Kinda hate to break up the S99's but hey, I could always put them back together.

I'm really kicking myself for not bidding on that pair of XPL200 crossovers that just went for $71 on eBay - 'more ways to experiment...
