I have a pair of what looks like 4205 hf drivers but the magnet assembly looks different than any I've seen. It is just as heavy but thinner and a little bigger in diameter than the one's you usually see. Did they make these with ferrite magnets in the later years or has someone put something wierd together that actually works well. They sound fine. Also ,Would I be wrong if I said the 4205 was the professional series version of the 077 ? Thankyou And Help..Jay

:) Jay: You have 2405Hīs, the last an still current version, with ferrite magnets, the earlier ones were Alnico; I donīt think JBL made ferrite 077īs; to me both sound great, but that is open to a lot of discussion.

Alex, I just bought some 2405 parts that included two horns for some I am rebuilding. My JBL dealer said that JBL told him I got the last two!:biting:

I hope he is wrong and that it is :bs:

:) Chas: Maybe the last parts, but AFAIK, the complete 2405H is still available, Giskard will know.

:) Jay: Pls PM me about their condition and price, Mike Caldwell just sold a bunch of diaphragm-less ones for $50 a piece.
