I actually have 3 pairs of these wonderful drivers. I am completing my 3rd pair of L220/L222's. I love old airplanes, I just can't afford more than a picture.

ps: is that a 109 Messerschmit?

I like to have one pair only !!:(
Yes this is one of two (?) Bf 109 (Messerschmidt) from the german "Messerschmidt Stiftung" in Manching (south germany, Bayern).
This is ME 109 G-10 With a 2000 HP (short time) power engine with a water-methanol (?) injection.
The other one is a Me 109 G-6 (FMBB)called "Fritzchen" with a stock 1300 HP engine, i think.
This one they showed on airshows years ago, but they had an accident in Berlin with the engine and the pilot had to ground it without a running engine.
The only one flying this machines is if i remeber right Werner Eichbaum.
The "Black 6" from Duxford also was damaged and is not longer flying on airshows :( . So i have no chance to see a flying 109.
A member in Duxford asked Eichbaum why he doesn`t come to the show with his 109. He answered "To rare, to expensieve".

:) Steve:

Some of the Mustangs had N2O, Meth-water injection on the Rolls-Royce Merlin engines, probably built by Packard in the USA, and based on RicardoŽs investigations, no nazis I think; For some years now some way out guys are fitting the Griffon (V16 instead of V12) engines, originally used on the AVRO Lancaster bombers, (no relation, I think), and others, with counter-rotating props, that could be a trip in a single engine 5000HP plane; letŽs get back to Lansing.

For what it is worth "NAZI" was a political party, and like all governments they do not produce or invent anything, all they do is tax the population. It is the people of the different nations around the world that create and invent. Please stop listening to Rush and Shaun!!!http://audioheritage.csdco.com/vbulletin/images/smilies/banghead.gif

Well this thread has been an interesting lesson on the limitations of forum communication. As I have learned through painful experience, you can never be too explicit (no porn jokes please) in trying get a message accross clearly. There is always someone who will not take your intended meaning. Therefore, caution is required when anything is mentioned that even has the potential to be inflamatory.

In this case, I think the dust has settled and everyone understands that this blow-up was unintended and strictly a result of miscommunication. For now, I have broken off the portion of this thread that is not related to the subject and moved it to the off topic area. It may be best to delete it later on, but for now it serves as a good object lesson.

As a reminder, even for threads that don't blow up ;), if you want to add a post that changes the subject of discussion, do it in a new thread in the appropriate forum. You can leave a message in the original forum about your new thread. Just try not to hijack threads and take them in a direction completely unrelated to the original topic.
