Hello...My JBL LE15A drivers are in need of new surrounds.
Any sources for off white/yellow that would be close to the original Lansaloy color??
One fellow on e-Bay has white foam, but they look too bright to me.
I have checked with Simply Speakers and The Speaker Exchange in the Tampa, Fl area, no luck.
BTW, Simply Speakers is located 5 miles from me, but they are no longer taking "walk-ins"!:(
Where are you guys/gals getting yours re-foamed at??

Thanks in advance!

perhaps tint the white ones (experiment on the back side?)

On my monitor, the "Light Golden Oak" in the attached dye pic doesn't look too 'off' if left a bit lighter, but would expect some experimentation would be required.
(the blue rectangle highlight just came with the cut/pasted pic, not my emphasis)

Someone here may have more than my precisely -zero- knowledge of dye/stain compatibility with those white surrounds (whatever they're made of).
Presuming the wrong application could turn them to goo, so I'd advise some caution.

not that I'm aware. Could be a royal mess. Seems like those white surrounds were also somewhat costly... Kind of has a "Ross' teeth" vibe as-is.

perhaps tint the white ones...I am not sure if any of us have firsthand knowledge, but looking at photos I think the original Lans-a-loy surrounds might have been white originally and they have yellowed over time.

They certainly darkened substantially with age. I don't recall them ever being bone-white... even new LE14's, but perhaps a -very- light cream color :dont-know:
That was a -long- time ago :D Perhaps someone -older- than I recalls differently ;). (the black & white pics from the era don't particularly help)

In a "restoration" of old stuff, often people will often simulate an aged patina. I can see this as being of interest to some.

See edgewound's post for a notion of -Aquaplas- color (not Lansalloy, but still interesting for comparison):
