I know that the fact that JBL 2405, 077, 075, etc. diaphragms are really all the same JBL part number whether they are labeled H or J or 8 ohm or 16 ohm. This has been well documented on these forums. My question is how about 2426H vs 2426J diaphragms? Is it the same story? I've seen various differing opinions on these forums. Anyone know for sure? Thanks.

The 2426H diaphragm is definitely different than the 2426J ( or 2425J ) diaphragm.

One only needs to look at these impedance traces.

PS; The green trace is from one of my 2425J drivers ( while the red was made by Giskard a.k.a. 4313B ) .

Hi Earl K,

But it would be better to be seen if "J" curve was reduced by about 6dB (two times) I believe then such difference would be less

The relevant units are there on the right hand side of the graph ( ie; the "ohms" units ) .

Frankly, I find your post to be adding unnecessary confusion to a very simple issue ( question ).

If you don't believe that these "H + J" designations mean that the drivers having them have different impedance curves > then run your own.

Mine were run on WT2 ( after calibrating to the 10ohm resistor ) > then exported as .zma files and finally imported ( for display purposes ) into REW .
