I just got in some of the SRX-715's in my shop and the horn is great. The 2431 is so much smoother than a 2425. I just have to check the prices on them jbl's pro sales website is down right now so i can't really check.

The horn is $31.50 each, I have 2 on the way. I will post results after I measure them with some suitable drivers.

Cool, cheap.

How 'bout the DRIVER?

That's interesting 'bout the smoothness. The amplitude response looks very flat on the SRX712M (2431) data sheet all the way up to about 7kHz. Then a slight rise of 3dB, before dying after 10kHz. Even with the plunge in DI after 10kHz, it's still not enough to scrape together enough output in the last octave. A UHF driver seems a necessity with the 2431.
The 2425 still shines in the JBL VHF department; at least for a 2 way compression driver design...
Anyone got some detailed data on the 2431?

when i say smoothness it doesn't have that "bite" like the 2425 does around 2.5k. About the price I wanna know what my price is if the horn is that cheap gotta love working at a JBL warrenty center

Any idea of the difference between the 2431 and 2430, (as used in the DMS1 and EVO)? The 2430 is very reasonably priced.

DMS-1 data sheet says it uses 2450SL-A with "A new ['97] 38 mm (1.5") diameter exit neodymium high frequency compression driver with Coherent Wave™ phasing plug and 100 mm (4") diameter titanium diaphragm delivers low distortion response to beyond 20 kHz.

Is 2430 equivalent?

Is 2430 equivalent?Ooops - 'my mistake. I was thinking of the 2332 horn with 1.5" throat as used in the DMS-1. Someone here has tested that combo in the past, (2430/2332), and I've often wondered how that would sound in a quasi-4343 setup...

Hello,
I am new to this site.
I would like to see a picture of the JBL Coherent Wave™ phasing plug.
Would you please direct me to a place on the Internet where is a picture of it? I searched the net, but no luck.
Thanks, miklos
