I am fixin' to downsize my house and reduce the number of stereos I have up and running. I decided to sell a pair of L200's and I thought I would reform them since they are kind of due.

I removed all of the threaded screw and when I got to the last one, it decided to be a problem child. It unscrews about halfway out and then spins, either advancing or being able to be rescrewed back in. What appears to be happening is the threaded nut on the inside of the cabinet is spinning with the screw/bolt. I have sure I'm not the first person this has happened to. Any advice?

It's the bottom bolt in this photo

I've had that problem many times. My fix method has always been to find a way to pull the nut up tight to the hole.

How to do it ? either lift up on the side that has released correctly (putting pressure against the spinning one) or getting a screwdriver blade between basket edge and wood and lift basket as much as possible, again pulling nut up tight to the hole.

when it's out, all work done ..then I glue the nut in place ..before remounting the driver... no more spinning problems

hope you can understand what I'm trying to say :dont-know:

Boy that was painful but I finally got it out. What a flippin' nightmare. Any suggestions for glue for that nut :D ?

That's the trick, just have to stay at it, fraction of a turn by fraction of a turn. Thank you

I use my German hot glue gun for many different fixes .

Just cover the tines of the T nut well .... I insert the bolt into nut while cooling and pull UP , seating it well into original position. It's set in less than a minute. JBL also used hot glue .. some of those glued xovers are really hard to remove ...

Thanks, it turns out the screw was broken off half way down. I extracted it and examined it. I ordered new tunes and screws, we'll see how those turn out.
