"L300s" vs the "Big Girls."

Just stereo, warts and all. Pure Direct with no eq, no digital processing, no subs, etc.

The 2241 cabinet has no internal bracing or insulation. Had to get the crossovers to sound right first.

I’d rather have your opinions as to the sound of each. I realize describing audio is a poor substitute to listening, but unfortunately in my opinion listening via a YouTube video is even less informative than a thoughtful report.

So how do they sound?:bouncy:

The voice is more "open" and doesn't have the chestiness. The sound is "tighter." There is a bit of an upper dip but it is further above the vocal range removing "cloud." There is no "tizz," though there really is none in this recording to bring out.

The horn in the L300 has its own magic, but it carries a price. The peakiness and glare become evident as do the phasiness. A central image is audible as two speakers rather than focused.

I call them the "Big Girls" because they do female vocals so well, but can do it LOUD. Maybe I should call them the "Ethyl Mermans." :D
