I have bought a pair of what I believed to be new 2450SL diaphragms.

They are not alike, one having something on the top of the diaphragm.

I have seen the little aluminum stick on dots on many JBL diaphragms. They appear to be from different lots but that may not be an issue.

I have some that are now in box. i will look at them after work this evening and tell you what I see.

Barry.

Hi,

I just looked at a pair of my 2450SL diaphragms, they both have the previously noted small dot ( though, they are painted over with aquaplas ).

BTW, one of those dots on my SL's, was almost imperceptible ( ie; virtually buried under the aquaplas ).

The following ( "hard-to-see" dot ) is quite consistent with the "look" of the first pic ( belonging to more10 ).

- In fact, I can see the outline of said buried dot in his last pic ( when using magnification ).

So yes, the dots are supposed to be there ( though they are usually buried under the plastic paint ).

Also ( fwiw ), these dots are standard issue on all the older 2441/2445 diaphragms that I have ( the un-ribbed D82445 is the base diaphragm for the 2450SL, becoming a D82450SL once painted with aquaplas ).

:)
