Hello,

Can anyone recommend a replacement product for the white gasket around the 077 Tweeter?

It is JBL Part Number 51795 and now listed as "black" vinyl gasket. It shows as current but not in stock (showing a month backorder) and, depending on where you get it from, under $2.00 (plus shipping). So, I'd say JBL/JBL Dealer.

Thanx for the info sguttag, Can you provide a link to where you found that info, I can't find anything.

The pricing/availability I get from JBL (I'm a certified reconer). As for the part.

I got the part number off of the L65 Tech sheet that used the 077 http://manuals.harman.com/JBL/HOM/Technical%20Sheet/L65%20Jubal%20ts.pdf

In the JBL Ordering System, it is called: GASKET, BLK VINYL 077

They note that driver replacement is the 2405 and I checked that sheet:

http://www.jblproservice.com/pdf/Discrete%20Sales%20Models/2405H.pdf

Note, it is the same part number.

You sure could except standard O rings are not hollow core and don’t have near the compressibility/compliance.

Barry.

Hello Barry

Your right still think it will work though. Some of the newer black ones I have are kinda hard compared to the white ones. These are not for 2405's but used for 2105 the 12's and 14's

Hi Rob;

I should do some homework. Hewland racing transmissions use a white foam core round cord material for case to case seals that are very compliant. It was also bondable so one can make rings with it.

That stuff has to be available on his side of the pond. I will see.

My best,
Barry.
