Pro Version Of L100T ?

I was looking at a 1985 brochure of the L series and it states that there is a studio monitor version of the L100T. Does anyone have any info on them?

I have L100T drivers and crossovers and want to build cabinets for them but I don't like the look of the originals so I'm thinking of maybe building the pro version instead.

That would be the 4412 or 4412a. We'd like to have a copy of your catalog if it's not in the library.

There is no direct Pro equivalent of the L100T.

4412 is the most similar in that it is a ported 3-way that uses the same tweeter and mid-range drivers as the L100T, but really that is where the similarities end. The 4412 is a bookshelf speaker whereas the L100T is a floor-standing speaker. The 4412 uses the 128H-1 woofer while the L100T uses the 2214H woofer. The 2214H has a much deeper cone and twice the power-handling compared to the 128H-1. There is the 4425 which uses the 2214H woofer but is a 2-way design using a horn. Maybe you could build something similar to the 4412 speakers with closer to L100T cabinet dimensions.

I'd just build some 4412-type enclosures with enough extra depth, width, and height to equal the L100T's volume. I'll bet you could do enough adjustment to make them look very similar yet still properly proportioned. There's also the possibility of adding integral risers that would actually open into the main cabinet and thereby increase the volume appreciably.

Sounds like a fun project.

That's what I saw, it's a little bit vague.

Oh, my! Those L200T3s are some homely-looking rascals, aren't they? Nice components, though. If they were mine, I'd have to build some enclosures worthy of the name. :)

The design of those L200T3 cabinets are just as unimaginative as the L100T's. When I was about 14 years old, I stole a pair of woofers out of an old console we had in the basement. The cabinets I built for them were of the same proportions as these JBL's. I think JBL could have done a little better than a teenager with cheap jigsaw and some scrap plywood.

And those grills don't help.
