How do you get a 2360 to play with authority (loud and clean!) down to 250Hz?

With no delay and no crazy crossovers?

Break out the Bridgeport!

Measurments to come.

Barry.

Sealed back mids through side “ports” ala synergy horn? Fun stuff! :)

That is pretty neat, like it was meant to be used that way from the start!
I love reading about your DIY stuff Barry, always over the top (in a good way) and cleverly executed :)

I haven't had time to work on this much but I wanted to show you this. This is the frequency response with zero smoothing, on axis at about 2M. There is no processing of any kind, zero. Both HF and LF swept from 100Hz to 21000Hz

White is all drivers on, driven at 1V, yellow is just the 2450. If you look at the cursers it shows a full 19dB increase at 250Hz. This is an increase of very nearly 100 times the acoustic power at 250Hz. The end goal here is to have a 2360 that will play good and loud with a 2X18" box or a front loaded basshorn.

The 2 8Ω mid drivers are wired in parallel, the 2450wSL is the 16Ω version.

Barry.

Same pic with the mid's contribution in purple. Same as the last, a totally raw measurement.

In red, 184° total phase through the passband, with zero processing, all drivers at 1V.
