“American Wire Gauge” Roughly speaking it is the measure of the wire diameter.

I think that it used to be 18awg. Newer system have Monster 14awg.

As long as the wire fits in the terminal without having to remove strands, and there’s some extra room for the spring to push back and slightly crush the wire, 18ga or above should be fine. Stock interior wire does look like tinned 18ga multi-strand.

Put a wire gauge on the bare wire. measures 20 gauge for internal wire. Just for any one's info. Thanks
