Im going to build two double 18 cabs with two 2241h in each for my cinema.

i have seen the cabs on the web here and there, but unable to get dimensions for the ports.

It would be really appreciated if i could get the cab dimensions also from someone who has built them.

All help appreciated.

regards

I recall three six inch ports at 4-3/4" length for my 4719 doubles. Tuned to 40Hz.
Good luck!

Building for home? Here’s a good one;

The JBL 4642A (with 2241’s) and 5749 (with 2242’s)measure:

24” X 48” X 30” and are made from 3/4” material.

The port is rectangular at 15.75” X 7.0” and 15.5” deep.

These are theater subs that are tuned lower (25Hz) than sound reinforcement subs.

Amazing to get replies so quick, much appreciated.

Ill do the rectangular port as suggested.

Many thanks again

ps just out of curiosity, how much is an 8 by 4 by 3/4 inch sheet of birch ply in the USA? Its 80 US dollars equivalent here.

I bought 18mm Baltic Birch grade BB? 4’ X 8’ this year at $58. USD per sheet. This grade is no voids and clear (no repair spots) one side. Plenty nice for speakers.

All the best!
Barry.

I have one built and its true, if you wanna hear bass ya gotta move air. and these 18s sure move air.

i am just driving it with a BKS bass module and its excellent

wondering what would be the perfect amp to drive the 4 18s ?

BTW i managed to get the two cabs out of 3 Sheets of 8 by 4 ply.
