The most famous laughter. The only vocal is this laughter in the intro of this instrumental after the breaking-sound of the surf board. Schadenfreude?

50 years ago: the dirty laughter by Ian Gillan at the end of "Speed King" is an ecstatic outburst of exalted gladness. They had just given birth to "heavy metal hard rock". An epochal song. PS: on this compilation we have the US-version of "Speed King" where the fantastic excessive whammy bar intro was omitted aiming to more success on US-market. They wouldn't hardly bear it...

Notice 1972 or 1985 on back cover: "These knocked-out collector's items may well represent the some of the last laughs in Jazz music. In an increasingly difficult and perilous time, Slim Gaillard's music and good humor provide a wonderful antidote to help us forget some of the many frustrations we face in our daily lives."
