Hello Lansing admirers,

Who can help me with a JBL Vintage problem?
I bought 2 bullet tweeters (without diaphragms and type labels) for a few Euros, and i was almost sure to buy 2 JBL 075 or 2402.
In the meantime I have restored them and installed new diaphragms D8R075, they fit perfect and the bullets play like they have to play.
But: On the photos you will see they have only 3 screws to screw the horn ring on the magnet, and a JBL 075 and 2402 have 4 screws. And the horn ring diameter is 110mm, bigger than the magnet diameter who is 100mm.
On the JBL 075 and 2402 both are 98mm. I do not find these bullets on the internet.
I would be very happy when someone could tell me if I have 2 JBL bullets, and what type (maybe 2 very early 075?), or if they are not JBL, what brand and type of bullet i have.
Thanks in advance guys.

Your tweeters are not JBL products. Sorry.

Hello Horn Fanatic,

Thanks for the reply.
Do you have any idea what brand and type they are?

Frederik.

Greetings Frederik -

This may be a stretch, but the horn and phase plug bare a striking resemblance to the D.A.S. Audio ring radiator tweeter.

It could be that the company purchased phase plugs and horns from a different manufacturer. For example, Pyramid ring radiator tweeter horns and phase plugs are used by a variety of loudspeaker manufacturers. Even Beyma.

Good luck,

H.F.

Hello Horn Fanatic,

You could be right.
The horn and phase plug could be DAS.
But it is still very strange that the magnet looks just like a JBL 075, except the holes of course.
It is still a kind of a mistery.

Thanks for your reaction !

Frederik.
