Hi ,

for my outdoor speakers JBL 29A :

http://www.jblproservice.com/pdf/Control%20Contractors%20Series/C29AV-1.pdf

• High Frequency 2413H,25 mm (1 in.)
CompressionTransducer: Driver, Pure Titanium Diaphragm

The driver is dead - no noise at all ,
As check with Ohm meter - nothing.
I guess need to replace the diaphragm,
JBL does not supply a diaphragm for this driver and i couldn't find good diaphragm - all looks cheap alternative .

Can some1 recommend on good diaphragm?
second Q , in general - is the ferrofluid is recommended for all compression drivers?
Do u think it's necessary ?

Thanks Don ,

Yes , actually i did .
but if u notice it sale without the diaphragm ,

"JBL does not supply a diaphragm for this driver, but you can use ouraftermarket diaphragm (http://reconingspeakers.com/products-page/diaphragms/aftermarket-diaphragms/jbl-2412-and-2413-aftermarket-diaphragm/). Another option is to upgrade to a higher powered driver, we suggest the Selenium D220TI Driver (http://reconingspeakers.com/products-page/horns-drivers-xovers/selenium-d220ti-screw-on-driver/)."

The problem all aftermarket diaphragm looks cheapy and following report i read on they sound bad and quite different from the original one.

it look i don't have too many choices ,
what about the ferrofluid -is anybody has experience with it and can recommend?

You are misreading the text. JBL does not sell replacement diaphragms for the driver, they only sell complete replacement drivers. The part listed on that website is the JBL replacement part that will fix your speaker. The mention of an aftermarket diaphragm is a low cost alternative.

If they were my speakers I’d order the JBL driver.
