2440 vs 2420 Drivers

Not a better Place to get some input then here. I want basic sound differences on the 2440 driver vs 2420 driver.
Set up L300 crossovers ( nelson Pass variant ) Running the 2440 in place of the Stock l300 driver. 16 ohm. Here we go lets hear it.:D
Should i find a pair of 2420 and swap them out?
Is that 16 ohm driver in place of the 8 ohm correct driver killing me?

What horn do you have for the 2440 ?

I don't think there is an 8 ohm 2420. There is an 8 ohm 2425H and an 8 ohm 2421A.

In answer to your question, the sound between a 2440 and 2420 is similar between 800Hz and 8-9KHz. The 2440 is more effortless and dynamic.

What horn do you have for the 2440 ?

I have the 2309 with the heartsfeild type horn+lens = 2390 also 2344 with a 1" adapter. Both really cool sounding Was thinking about getting 2311 with lens Im about 12ft from the speakers to compare

I cant say enough about the 2397 smith horn with the 2440. I prefered it greatly over the Altec 811 horn in my model 19's. Either way, cant wait to see your progress.
