Did I buy 2360 or 2365?

Inspired by Lee's build (http://www.audioheritage.org/vbulletin/showthread.php?34120-JBL-2360-new-install), I ran out an bought a pair of 2360 horns. But now that I've gotten them home I'm not sure if they are 2360 or 2365?

Those ar 2360's. The throats on the 2365's are much shorter. Actually both sound great.

I confirm what Barrie said. They are 2360. You will have great pleasure with them once you have set them up. I have no experience using a passive crossover, but with an active one you can really tune them to your taste. I am a convinced two-way afficionados. Cross them at 500 or 600Hz.

I'm also a firm believer in active crossovers, I have a dbx DriveRack PA2 and 3 Crown amps to play around with.

So. What is your project and what will you use below the 2360? Single/double 15" ? 18" ?

I have just finished restoring one of my motorcycles and my next project is building cabs to be used with an 18" JBL 2240 - It has Fs30 and shall sound better than an heavier 2245 when crossed around 500Hz.

I'm thinking of a single 15", 2226H? Although Lee's curved cabinets are beautiful, I don't think my woodworking is up to it.

I like the proportions of the bass cabs.

Also considering the miniDSP PWR-ICE250 plate amps with ICEpower 250ASX2 modules to power them.

I'm not a JBL aficionado (though I could be easily convinced!), but I'm wondering if there is a good 15" cab that is wide enough to match the width of the horn? It always looks out of kilter when the horn is wider than the cab. To me, of course.

Re 'matching' 15" driver cabs...
At one point, I set them on 4560 cabs in my living room ... it was an interesting and enjoyable experiment.

My wife has been pretty tolerant of the stuff I drag home, as long as it makes it to the basement! I have a '73 Jeep CJ5 down there ;)

On the matching width idea, maybe a trapezoid? Please forgive my mspaint doodle:

The volume of that trapezoid gets big pretty quick. Maybe it wouldn't have to be that deep, I was thinking of getting it all the way back beneath the horn's driver, but it really would only need to go back as far as the horn's mounting bracket.

What effect would that big flat baffle at the edge of the horn cause?

The idea of making the cab as deep as the horn/compressor combo is a good one as in this case, the horn is so deep, it is the one that dictates the placement. So might as well use all the depth you can have on that cab. And the trapezoidal shape is also a good idea to avoid internal standing waves. Good work.
