Good afternoon,

I recently came into ownership of a great pair of Altec Model 18s using the 604-8K drivers and crossover. I'm fairly pleased as these are my first Altecs and I've wanted a pair for a long time.

I have a question about the crossover. Right now my current plan of action is to simply replace the electrolytic capacitors with fresh ones. However, I cannot find any good information online about the crossover. Many references to the 604-8H but hardly any to the 604-8K. Does anyone have a schematic? And, is it the same as the 604-8H? I thought there were some improvements made to it over the 604-8H hence the question.

Beyond that, does anyone have any suggestions for crossover work? Such as, should I go with a custom crossover or start with the original, refresh it, then build from there?

I would simply build a new network.

The JMarkwart network redesign (http://home.earthlink.net/~jmarkwart/id11.html) is recommended .
