VOTT diy project bass driver question

Hi all I have a friend who is attempting to build
A horn set up, he has some Altec 806 Mid/tweeters on an Altec horn.
And wants to put a 12 or 15 inch bass driver in
A VOTT cabinet he is building that would compliment ...
Can you recommend? It's Very difficult to find Altec AlNiCo bass drivers in the U.K.

Hello, and welcome to the forum.

Others will pipe in soon, but they will be asking which VOTT cabinet your friend is building (the VOTT name is loosely used for a number of cabinet designs), which horn he is using with that 806 driver, which crossover he wants to use, and maybe a few more items.

Also, does your friend intend to use an Altec woofer? And is he determined to use an Alnico model to the exclusion of later versions? Or, is he seeking recommendations regarding other, more accessible brands/models from other manufacturers?
