Can anyone confirm the top plate thickness
of the le14h-1. .280?
xmax = 5.97mm
5.97*2= 11.94mm
.280 = 7.1mm
is the vc depth 19.1 anyone
19.1-7.1/2=5.95
Is the vc depth missing a decimal here

The le14h shares the top plate along with a
3/4 magnet with the 2235h, 2205h, etc
(.281) tp is this correct

The LE14A and LE14H have a mechanical (voice coil overhang) xMax of 4.45 mm, the LE14H-1 has a mechanical xMax of 5.97 mm. That's measured one way. (Voice coil winding depth - top plate thickness) / 2.
JBL often measures xMax as the amount of travel required to reach 10% distortion. Sometimes xMax is published as measured full travel instead of one way.
All the LE14's that have the thickness specified are ~.28", but that's the -3 and -4.
You trying to franken woofer a LE14H-1 out of a 2235?

With the 4315 one I'm doing yes I think
I'd like to have a set of le14h's to go with the le14a
i have seen some le14a baskets reasonably
priced, the top plates on both are .280
an use 3/4" mags. So this gives me an impression
they both use the same magnets n have the
same gap. The 2205h is on
that list as well, they are sub $40.00 to date. Le14h
i have seen are priced over $350.00.
Seems more economical to build a set IMHO.

This is the gaps & depths.
Much of the information I have came

Voice coil length is 19 mm (0.75") Top plate for all those LE14Hś are .280" if remembering correct Voice coil is over-hung in those LE14Hś
But I dont think it is for the LE14Aś (with Alnico motor)?

In this link X-max is specified to be 8.5 mm :blink: I also found this old post from 4313B:

yes the Vc are the same, in the 2235h & le14h
does anyone know if the 2203vc is the same as the
latter depth and gap are equal
