Hello,
im thinking of just taking the diy 4315s into my bedroom
and making new cabs for the living area. Now I
essentially have the know how an experience

had a question about designing a uhf diffraction a la
s105.

Good or bad idea? Cloak n dagger.
Is that the idea around the
2308 I like (2) 1/2 concave circles 1 on the side
1 on the bottom of the uhf or 1 full radius concave
diffraction in front of the uhf maybe with a few random
holes

I assume you know the following document: http://www.audioheritage.org/html/profiles/jbl/aquarius.htm.

There was a time when HiFi was even more voodoo than today with plenty of strange concepts. The aquarius line is from that time. How can you sort out the voodoo concepts?

With a proper theory you can make a design, predict its behaviour and verify the predicted behaviour. The Thiele theory of vented speakers is a classical example.

I don't understand the second part of your question. Please explain.

With the various uhf horns the benign
apprecation for them is contemptuous regarding
DIY placement. I haven't heard mine yet
but in trying to understand efficiency with them
maybe some diffraction would boost their splendor

so a halved concave circle made from solid material
wood/metal organic matter attached to the baffle
to the east and south 2-3mm from the uhf a microphone or bull
horn shaped like an L

Here's what I consider to be the modern successor to JBL's Aquarius concept .

Mass loading and slot loading shall increase the moving mass of the speaker, which often is not beneficial.

The thing with the purple exit path is a horn. The thing with the red exit path is a reflector for frequencies where the wavelength is small compared to the dimensions of that "reflector". Neither of the two does mass loading.

If you like extraordinary designs, check the Lowther Audiovector Symphonic and Lowther Voigt systems.
