I am putting my reconed 128h back into my JBL150A after two months. One green wire, one green and black --- which goes to the red post, or which to the black? (don't mock me too hard)

Go green to + and green/black to -

That assumes red is + and black is - on the woofer. In general, it seems on JBLs a wire with any black on it goes to the black terminal.

Correct, and that is how my L150's were wired before http://www.audioheritage.org/vbulletin/showthread.php?38949-L150-bi-wire-modification

thank you all, this was as I assumed (but I don't like to operate on assumption)

that's also the assumption I've made when uncertain ... seems to work well ;)

The positive on a 128H is the black post. This can be confirmed with a single 1.5 volt battery.

Therefore the solid green wire goes to the black post.

Not on mine bought new.

Yeah, but that's just the way the cone moves, the red terminal is still the + terminal.

Terminology:Positive systems: A system or transducer is said to be positive if a positive-going voltage applied to its red (or non-black) input terminal causes a positive pressure at the acoustical output of the device. For cone transducers, the cone will move outward and can be easily seen. For compression drivers, a positive going pressure can be measured at the driver's exit. Many systems and transducers do not have color-coded input terminals, and in these cases one terminal is usually labeled with a + sign.Consistent with the positive standard, a positive-going signal at the positive terminal will result in outward motion of the cone.Negative systems: A system or transducer is said to be negative if a positive-going voltage applied to its red (non-black) terminal causes a negative pressure at the output of the device.

The wire with the black stripe always goes to the black terminal of the driver. That's all you need to know. Can you imagine how confusing it would be in the assembly plant it it weren't this way?
