Looking for some info on these Altec speakers.

I am looking for any info on these speakers I picked up. They sound amazing and seem to be in great shape. What year were they made? Is there a model or name for them? Are the cabinets original? Thank you for any input.

Home Brew Cabinets populated with Altec 605B Duplexes ( orangeish-red surrounds are the give-away ) .

Study past ( & present ) eBay sales ( over a period of months ) to determine actual re-sale value.

This site has a pretty good library that can help establish the general time frame this model was sold ( & when it superseded the 605a, which < I believe > is generally more collectible )

( Well made & not a disaster in the waiting ) cabinets will always have value to local buyers who can't build for themselves ( ie; apartment dwellers, those with no tools, those with no time, those with no skill etc. ).

Matching that value ( to the right person ) takes time.

Obviously I'm wrong about the distinguishing clues to the 2 model types ( 605a or 605b ? ). Need to up my caffeine level somewhat.

I would be concerned ( as a seller ) if they have different colored surrounds ( since that implies a recone has occurred at one time ) .

I thought the speakers and cabinets as a whole may have a name/ model number. Looking on ebay some of the older Altec cabinets had names. I did notice they were all badged though. Thanks for all your input, very helpful.
