If I alter the crossover and separate the low pass circuit from the mid/high, I'm curious as to what the nominal input impedance becomes for the two independent sections. I assume "higher", but I'd like to know the ballpark number. If anyone has some insight regarding this, I'd really appreciate it!

Test it with a multimeter.

Thanks for the reply, I was hoping someone else had performed this modication and had real impedance numbers.

A multimeter won't work, it will only measure DC resistance.

Usually the impedance sort of crosses over too. So splitting it will present 8 ohms in the band in use, and this will be OK. Amplifiers are very tolerant of higher loads.
