Hi

Here is a photo of a modified L 300 which is for sale here in Denmark. (4500 USD). Have you guys ever seen such a modification with buttcheeck-horns in a original L 300 enclosure?? Seller says Its been done by a pro JBL-shop several years back.
its looks not like an improvement to me. Or am I wrong?

cheers

I doubt the 077 would think it improved anything. Or the grilles, either!

I wonder what problem they were trying to correct, and what the consensus was after the fact?

My mind's picture is lighting hundred-dollar bills on fire.

That just pains me to look at that.:barf:Why not just buy a 4430?? :crying:

Isn't the horn interrupting the 077 dispersion? Looks bad to me.

Hi
May be 90 deg. Horn rotation can improve 077 dispersion

The 077 is suppose to be in the middle , must not be a L300 cabinet. Maybe a 4333 ?

Kinda misses the point about the development of that horn, not to mention the compensation circuit that goes with it. Cabinet definitely looks L300ish.

... a lot of speculation. If the 4430 network was hooked up and with some HF spray (maybe add some foam behind the 'buttcheek ear'...
or rotate the 2344, as has been noted in -two- threads now).

It could sound pretty good (up off of the ground). Looks like a modded L300 cabinet to me. If the grill fit still, it might be a reasonable
(if unfortunate, value-wise) mod. It's just speakers folks. :duck:

As 2344 dispersion in the horizontal and vertical planes up to 10kHz is almost the same, but with 077 included, FR over 10kHz would be reproduced by 077

The grills actually fit over the cheeks. At least they did a good job on the cabinet work.

"Crossover is created / modified by Arne Ludvigsen (a master of jbl)
All units are renovated by jj technique and original
Instead of spreading the lenses are used JBL spreading horns
Højtalerene plays mildly amazing
Only serious inquiries please
Serious bids are welcome" - via Google Translate

OK. So other than likely/seriously compromising the originals, value-wise,
they play mildly amazing. The owner may well have thought it worthwhile
at the time.

Seriously though... $4500USD seems like a stretch unless for exactly the
right buyer... one who understands and values what Mr. Ludvigsen has
wrought upon them (and perhaps what a Højtalerene is).
