Disposing of old financial records. Going through the 1980 box. Found my receipt from MusiCraft in Chicago for my pair of JBL L222 Disco Towers. Paid $1198 for the pair on 6/14. $3462 in today's dollars.

The kicker? They are my normal listening speakers today!

So, in today's dollars, you've paid about $100 per year (so far) to own something that gives you great pleasure. I'd say that's a pretty darn good deal!:applaud:

Unfortunately, when I tell people today that they can get a decent pair of speakers for around $500, they look at my like I'm from another planet. Everyone is used to cheap and disposable. Oh well.
