crossover points help

hi, i acquired 2 2213H, 2 2470, and 2 2402 tweeters...
im trying to build a DIY 3 way cabinet, whats crossover should i use?
maybe im asking crossover points,

will this work?

Not well.

The 2470 driver (horn?) is nominally 16ohms and the 2402 is ~12.

The referenced crossover is intended for all 8 ohm drivers, so the crossover points
would be off.

I think you've got the cart before the horse, unfortunately.

You probably could get those drivers to all play together, but I can think of no
off the shelf passive crossover that is suited... meaning some non-trivial design
work would be necessary.

A potato masher type horn might work for you ... looking something like a hopped up L100.

Howdy, Armed,

Don't give up so easily, Sir. There are some excellent books and papers on crossover design out there. If you don't have test gear, maybe you can get someone to make some basic measurements on your drivers, to give you a starting point/ Then, you can buy the parts you need, and create your own crossover. There is a learning curve in all this, but why would that surprise you? Learning new things is what makes life worthwhile, me thinks! Good luck, and God Bless!

Assuming you don't want to learn how to design your own crossovers, you may want to limit your parts acquisitions to those devices found in JBL speakers ( home hifi types ) that have published crossovers .

im gonna be returning it then! this fricking game is frustratingI think that is a sound decision. This game can be frustrating... and it can be fun as hell and extremely satisfying, but it is best starting out copying systems that are known quantities... then you can play around.

Probably the best advice someone can give here. It always worked well for me.

You can add a resistor in parallel to the 2470 and to the 2402 such that the combination of each driver and its resistor has an impedance of 8 Ohms. This will reduce the level a bit, but there is still enough left. You can now connect these things to an "8 Ohm Network". You may and should add an L-pad between the drivers and the network so that you can adjust the level.

ok....I still need a 3 way crossover! currently im running N2400 for my D131 and 075, I would like to add a set of LE85..
3110? is that the best way to go? how will I wire it up? do I connect the 3110 parallel to the input of the n2400 and just use the HF?
or is there a capacitor I could just use inline? ive search the forum and I didn't really get the answer I needed...or at least the answer I could understand..
take it easy on me, I just started with this whole game...this is my first system.. I know L300 crossovers costs too damn much...can anyone build me one here?
or going the 3110 or n1200 will be easier and cheaper?

I'd suggest finding an actual bass driver, 2425/6 core, 2312 horn, radian diaphragm, and building the Pass network as a bang-for-the-buck solution. Upgrade to 077/2405 later if you like.

alternatively, take out the 12" adapter, go D130, and leave it be (030 system)... Perhaps moving to a less efficient but wider bandwidth system sometime later. You may never feel the need.

I guess it just gives me a reason to make another DIY box, and I don't want the LE85 to just sit around and collect dust...why radian diaphragms if you don't mind me asking....and if I want to use the LE85...do you mind telling me the easiest cheapest way to do it, at the same time sounding good? (im guessing cheap and sounding good is not gonna happen)

Didn't know you already had the LE85. Just use that.

Radian diaphragms are good quality and less expensive
than their JBL counterparts... Just not exactly the same
(you might like them better ... or not)

The 2425/6 + radian suggestion was if you didn't already have LE85s which can be a bit $$$.

Yeah, cheap and vintage JBL don't often go together.
