Hi everyone. I was looking for some advice on a custom center channel. I currently have some L80T's with recapped crossovers as mains. I'm using a L20T for a center channel at the moment and am not happy with it in this role.
I picked up a pair of 116h-1 in mint condition. I also have a pair of 035ti's sitting on the shelf along with a extra 104H-2 mid. I still have my stock L80T crossovers too.
This is what I was thinking about doing.
For a horizontal speaker a 035ti over the 104h-2 with a pair of 116h-1's on both sides. Being that I have a L80T crossover I was thinking about running the 116's in series for a close to 8 ohm load. The crossover was built for a single 127h-1 which I believe is a 6 ohm driver.
My question is, will running the 116 in series attenuate one driver over the other. Or should the receive the same signal and power? Also should I make an adjustment to a resistor or cap to accommodate a pair of 116s? I can't find the sensitivity of the 116h-1 vs the 127H-1 so I'm not sure if I need to add or reduce resistance in the crossover? And if so how much?
Or the other option I was thinking about was trying to source a single L60T cabinet and add a 104h-2 and the l80T crossover. But then how would I accommodate the single 116 over the 127?
My goal is to have a center channel with the 104h-2 and 035ti to match the my mains. I don't want to run another full size L80T in the center. Would be the easiest route.
The extra parts I have to work with are: 2 JBL N80T crossovers, 1- 115h-1 2 116H-1, 1 104H-2, 3 035Ti, and a full set of drivers and crossovers from the JBL 4311B, oh and 2 2245H
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.!
Thanks
