I have a pair of JBL 2440 drivers (with aftermarket 2441 diaphragms) which need new damping material inside the back covers. Suggestions?

There is an endless wealth of opinion on materials to be found in the data base here that you can review. I bought the $5 replacement from a local JBL pro. Sounds like the original. Easy. MM

1/2" closed cell foam adhesive backed. Available in any major city. Use a piece of paper to create a template of the cleaned out back. Be very careful to get no magnetic material like a screwdriver anywhere near the diaphragm as the magnetic field is very strong, especially when unscrewing the internal leads. I paid $20 for a 3' x 6' sheet last year. Canadian, so almost free for you in US!
