went to take a look and check it out ...CHICKEN SHACK !! Who knew ? ,
don't know how I made it all these years and was never exposed to the name or sound.

They are certainly as good or better than some more famous groups. :)

Sure, Chicken Shack. I was/am a fan of the earlier Fleetwood Mac and Chicken Shack was Christine Perfect's employment before that outfit and her marriage to John McVie. By the time of this recording the Shack had become quite influenced by the inspirations and playing of the great Peter Green. The vocals and guitar work are obviously so here. Some of Chicken Shack's work was also influenced by F/M's Danny Kirwan, like here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=51yWnDOryQo

Danny Kirwan came from Boilerhouse, and Green, Fleetwood and McVie from John Mayall's Bluesbreakers. There was a lot of Blues talent in the UK in those days and Green's echos were all over it. The Chicago Blues hit the UK very, very hard and we are all the better for it. Remember Led Zeppelin's "Tea For One"? To this day, Peter Green was the best guitarist I have ever heard and his vocals were just as soulful.

I came across the group in the mid seventies by way of a niche record store in town. They had a system with L100s flying overhead and played albums not on the top 20, or even top 100 probably. They tried to shy away from playing the middle-of-the-road/what's-hot-now albums. The first album I bought was Unlucky Boy which is still a favorite (and still in good shape 40 some years later). Likely I paid $3 for it but maybe discounted to $2.50 to move out old inventory. This store often bought out inventory from the biggies and discounted appropriately.

Anyway, Chicken Shack. Given their output and longevity it is surprising they remain a less known band in the US.

The album Kimono My House by Sparks was another pick-up I would never come across in the day. An album that begs a comparison to Queen though I wonder who came up the music styling first with which Queen racked up multi-million album sales.
