4345 foilcal pics

If anybody out there that has 4345's could send me a pic of their foilcals to my email address I would appreciate it. I am going to try and make a pair with my photo printer. :applaud: Also, if you could tell me how thick they are that would be nice.

I have that pic but it is shadowed on the bottom of the foilcal and I don't think I can edit that out.

Both recent Photoshop and Lightroom versions have a tool for that. I'll play with it. See what I can do.

Well, I fooled around with it in Lightroom too, and after about 10 minutes came to the conclusion that using a photograph may not be the best way to go. Unless the photograph is taken under perfect lighting and position, such as on a profession light table with a macro lens, my initial impression is that a scan or a publishing program to reconstruct it might be a better approach. I'm going to play with that approach and see what I can come up with.

I'd like to hear other opinions and ideas. Thanks.

Very few non reproduction lenses actually have a flat field of focus. The Vivitar Series 1 90-180 would be one. Otherwise maximize depth of field, use a 90 or longer (35mm equiv.), and set the white balance manually using a gray card.

If you pm Bo he might be able to arrange another image with his big Nikon slr.

As l recall John Nebel is a dab hand with photo imaging so he maybe able to assist.
