Information request - 1984 JBL L56 model

I recently picked up my first pair of JBL speakers - MINT 1984 JBL L56 models. They are in amazing condition and still had the factory boxes, manuals and sales receipts!

I am new to JBL and would like to know more about the L56 model specifically and the L Series in general. Any information is appreciated!

They MAY look MINT, but I'd bet that the woofer surrounds are toast. Plan on replacing them if they are the original black colored ones.
