2245 Baskets

I spotted a couple of blown 2245H speakers and told the guy that had them I wouldn't give him too much because I didn't know if they had been dropped and the magnets shifted. They got here today and hooray, no shifted magnets and the baskets look fine. I pulled the old cones out and kept the spider intact with the VC so now I need to recone them. I know there's a bunch of recone kits available but which is the preferred supplier? :D

That would be our very own Edgewound of Upland Loudspeaker. Closest you will get to an authentic JBL 2245 kit. Just pm him.

If he has them in stock. The C8R2445 fell off the part number list at JBL a few months ago. :banghead:

Check his eBay listings- He has some kits built up with parts that are pretty close to spec.

If Ken, at Upland, says those kits work as close to a JBL OEM kit as possible, I believe him!! He's done several things for me in the past, including refoaming my own pair of 2245H's. His work is fantastic, and measures up to the old JBL standard of quality!! Go for it!! Take care, and God Bless!
