Hi,

I happen to have a few almost new 2206 and some good 1400PRO and just wondered if someone here have had a chance to compare them sonically?

Application is HiFi stereo that doubles as HT.

Either way there will be subbs below 70Hz and crossed at 8-900 above.

All input appreciated

kind regards

2206 is a very decent driver but my guess is that 1400PRO will be the best one. Haven't tried them myself, but rumour has it that it's one of the very best pro driver JBL have made.

I prefer more efficient driver 2206.

I'm guessing it's hard to go wrong with either, but the 1400pro looks so much better to me in a living room.

Thank you for comments. I agree with the comments.

However, someone on this fine forum must have compared the two or at least heard booth to make a judgement??

Regarding efficiency I think 1400PRO has the upper edge with 98db, larger cone area, less weight (Neodym) and the same power handling.

And if I’m not mistaking I think booth are 4” voice coils.

I could re-cone them to 1400Nd’s but I don’t think those re-cone kits are available anymore.

I’m going to measure them later but it would be very valuable with some input from this very knowledgeable community.

Kind regards
