I'm finally getting around to building enclosures for my LE15As, LE85s and 077s. Without getting the LE15As out of the top closet storage shelf and measuring, does anyone know the diameter of the mounting hole for the LE15A? As you can see from the picture, after much agonizing indecision I finally decided to make a L300 clone. I am close to building the front baffles. Thanks.

Looks like it's going to be a nice build.

Just a couple of pointers:

--since precision in language when building speakers is as important as precision with a saw, which you seem to have under control, understand that a clone is an exact copy, a good idea for your first build, and you cannot build a clone of an L300 with an LE15A, because the L300 does not use that woofer

--the required tuning for your woofer in that box may be different. You can get some guidance in the Library>JBL Library>Plans>1960's enclosure manual and 1975 enclosure kit. Or get the Woofer Tester, the real one, from Smith and Larson, not that thing Parts Express is selling now.

--physical information about the woofer can be found at Library>JBL>Pro Components>2215.

--crossover requirements may be different.

Thanks. I'm aware of that. I should Not have used the word "clone". Lets call it a "L300-like" enclosure. My intent is to house the said components along with crossovers LX5 and N8000 which I also have from prior systems. My intent is to see how this setup works out (sounds). If I don't like it I will make, or have made, a custom crossover setup.

But meanwhile, I'd appreciate it if some can give me the size of the LE15A hole. Thanks.

Whoops. I see the size of the hole in the info you gave me in the library. Thanks!
