Hello,
I am trying to locate a replacement woofer for my S3100 speakers.
The part number is ME150HS, and is unavailable from JBL.
The problem is an open voice coil.
Does anyone know where I can source a replacement part?
Thanks.

This one just came up on EBay - it's a single too:) Will need to refoam it, but that would be the case with any ME150H you'd find now.

The surround is coated on them, originally. Another of the Destroyed Drivers of Destruction series I got damaged from Harman, sent it back - all it needed was a new surround :D

Yup - don't know if the aquaplas on the foam makes a difference or not, but I've had to refoam all 4 of mine, and the kits are not plas'd. I don't hear a difference, but it may be there...

That's interesting. I have 2227's reconed with/as ME150's and the surrounds are definitely coated. Sourced from Guido.

Original cone kits have a coated foam.

Everything else is -refoamed- or -not original- or -...whatever people do with woofers-.

Sorry for the misunderstanding - I did not mean recone kits, I meant refoam kits. A factory ME150 recone kit should be aquaplas'd - as there is no factory refoam kit, they are all 3rd party and are not aquaplas'd. My point was that after having my ME150's refoamed with aftermarket kits that were not coated, I don't hear a difference - still sound great:)

I think so. It's a wonderful woofer anyway :)
