Thank you for the add.

My friend had a phone call from the owner an old cinema, this is what he was given. It will fit in quite well into the man cave/ mini cinema he has built.... Even if it does take up most of the room.

If someone could shed a little more light on it and if anyone knows what mid and hf would go with it would be great, thank you.

Just looking at the photo's it does look like there was a rear panel which is now missing.

The loudspeaker remind me a WESTREX model 12028 12inch (in fact a rebadge VITAVOX loudspeaker)

Wow that is very cool. How that stuff really sounds is such a huge curiosity to me.

I see it comes complete with a Radio Shack crossover network too!! :)

Yes me too. A good clean up to follow I think.

I have been trying to find images to see if there is anything we need to add apart from the rear panel. Even then was it ported or fully sealed?

A 12 inch driver on a huge front loaded horn. I found a brochure on line but it does not include this design.

If you are after serious hifi, then I'd just flip those on Fleabay to a 'collector'. It's more a museum piece.

The frame on that driver looks like very vintage Tannoy?
Not the same driver at all from the one shown in the ebay ad.
I suspect that the driver you have in your box was a later addition/replacement to what originally came in it, assuming the ebay ad's driver is an original.

It may well have been replaced as the rear panel is missing.

Someone on a PA forum said it looked like a Tanoy driver, think it needs a clean up. Well a good dust to see if there are any identifications on it.

Your photos disappeared?
Was going to help narrow it down.

The chassis certainly does look like a Tannoy one but the magnet structure doesn't.

Oh dear...lol.

I have just noticed the reference to the radio shack xover... I think we would run it active now I can see the cut wires from the original coils. Or I assume they are coils.

Ya that's no RCA driver. Its no tannoy either I think. If you look at the back of the magnet bell there's a screw holding the bell on in the center. As far as I know tannoys never had anything like that.

That westrex looks like a sure match. The terminal plate is the same and the magnet bell is the same.

Apart from the driver used [one's suitable for horn loading] the cabinet design looks like a "W-bin". I can't say that I have seen the cavity in the back as they

normally face the other way and fire onto the upside-down 'v' part of a 'w'... If you turn a 'W' on it's side will help you get the picture...!

Used below 500Hz as Bass Reinforcement, Sub duties; especially utilizing 15" or 18" drivers.

Does look like it
Lots of cross pollinating and licensing with British designs/manufacturers (witness the BBC monitors)
The OP should remove that motor cover (may be something under there to help) and post a shot from the front, might help nail it down absolutely in light of the photos above
