HI ALL,
Just wanted to share my latest build. It was alot of fun. Alot cheaper than Kenrick Sound! I just have to sneak them into the living room, will she notice?:D The jbl 4355's I finished last year didn't fit so I had to build this vertical set. So yes i have two of these sets. One will have to go but when , not sure. Have the matching walnut dollies ready and the walnut lenses are ready for assembly. Any comments or questions are welcome.
thanks from Vancouver Canada.

Hi focalguy,

You have made great job. Why not mount 2202 'under' 2308 lenses, I think that in your design some amount of comb-filter effect in the horizontal plane would be present.

Wow!! GREAT BUILD. I too have turned my 4350's on there side and they sound awesome!! this has lead me too currently build a modern version of a 4350 that is nearly at the test stage for final build. Fully modular so i can experiment with sound and configuration.

Congrats again well done.

The shear presence of these is amazing and the sound ... well just amazing and so live , at concert levels if desired. My next project is the 4345 for which i have all the parts ready to go. Making these boxes is really quite easy and this forum has made it so easy .. from how to veneer, baffle colours etc... I have decided on the quad amp option with the behringer dcx 2496 crossovers.... for the money they cant be beat. I put walnut sides on them and take all branding off for that custom factor. Not that its needed but I also stack two Velodyne HGS-18's for that low low bottom. Lets say its a concert every night. these projects would not be possible without the forums and they are a great asset to the hobby. Thanks to Rick for posting all those specs... made it real easy.... round of 4355's for everyone! LOL!

Beautiful work. Too bad Harman can produce some retro type speakers.

I agree that quad-amping with the DCX-2496 is the way to go, almost a "no brainer" IMO (I hate that expression, but sometimes it just seems to fit). Excellent build! I'm sure they bring you untold amounts of pure unadulterated joy.

Yes , it makes going to any hi-fi shop pointless... they just can't get the clean spl's these blue boys deliver.

Beautiful!

Is that blue a custom mix or were you able to find something "off the shelf"?

What material did you use for the box?

Speaker building must be a part of Canadian DNA?

Very nice, very nice indeed

The blue was from a post on the forum,I believe it was from Sherwin Williams. A member took his 4350 in to the paint shop to get it scanned and he posted the paint label. The Mdf is 1 inch stock with the birch baffle. Yes we Canadians love Jbl and because the blue boxes are extremely hard to find in this demographic, we have no choice but to make our own. I have made the 4333a,4355, 4351 and this fall the 4345. I have only sold the 4333a to finance the others.

I just have to sneak them into the living room, will she notice?:D

My ex-wife would have said something like, "Oh, so you're a smart ass now...sneaking them into my living room?" lol But in jest and I'm sure she would have dug them. She never minded Maggie Tympani IV's and they were 6' x 4.5' ginormous.

Nice boxen!
