HI dino,

from the impedance curve
http://www.jblpro.com/pub/obsolete/4671ok.pdf
it seems that the cabinet is tuned near 40Hz,
if you plan to use 2235, then re-tune the cab to 28~30Hz.
May be closing two (of 4) vents, can be near the mentioned 2235 value.

That's a perfect box for the 2235H. A little larger than the 4430. It should play nice and low. I couldn't find what CD they use in the 4710. Anyone?

Quite the find at that price! Hopefully, the drivers are in decent working condition
(still a deal, regardless)!

Fantastic!
You are on your way.
I would seriously consider putting aside a bit of cash for new diaphragms... JBL 2440s, 2441s, or Truextent BE diaphragms if you can do it.

You got a great deal on those congrats. +1 on the new diaphragms especially the BE's. Do you plan on making these into a three way?

Hi dino,

Now, only UHF drivers such as 2405 or 2402, and connect all together....

additional option:

looks like you could bring the beyma in ~7-8KHz and keep the 2440's if what they do suits you :)
(looking at where horizontal dispersion of the 2397 starts to tighten up, somewhat matching to
where the beyma runs)

... really worth checking -any- older compression driver for diaphragm performance
(not just output go/no-go and resistance test), and assume the worst.

Thanks I was reading a little about the 2440s dropping off a little between. 8 or 9 kHz but didn't find to much info on beryllium diaphragms to see if the had any drop off at a certain kHz frequency. But what I did find out about them the beryllium had a higher kHz frequency compared to the original jbl diaphragm
But I will still keep it xover frequency at 8 khz

I hesitate to bring his name up without his prior knowledge, but GordonW. is quite the guru with respect to re-coning and making diverse components work as a cohesive unit. Plans for crossover?

Just came across this the jbl 4507 cabinet identical to my 46710k same measurements. The only difference is the other cabinet is up side down . I also found a posting Of jbl 2235h installed in this cabinet closing two of the top ports to get the correct tunning for that driver 30 HZ. Fantastic!!!!!!!!

Hi dino,

May be SL diaphragm D8R2450SL ( 190 $ per piece)

http://reconingspeakers.com/product/jbl-d8r2450sl-diaphragm/

or D16R2451SL ( 190 $ per piece)
http://reconingspeakers.com/product/jbl-2451sl-d16r2451sl-diaphragm-2/

can be used for half the mentioned price, or even Radian 1245-8/-16 ( quarter of the price) (110$)

http://reconingspeakers.com/product/jbl-2441-d16r2441-diaphragm/

can be used as the range would be up to 8kHz. I believe any of them up to 10kHz, are OK.
Using D16R2441- Aluminum ( about 200$)

http://reconingspeakers.com/product/jbl-2441-d16r2441-diaphragm/

can be used over 16kHz....
