I recently acquired a pair of Heathkit AS48's which have their version of a JBL LE 14A in them.
From what I know of the LE 14A, they are capable woofers, yet these speaker sound anemic,
and that is being generous. Surprisingly, the surround seem to be in great shape!
I'm wondering if anyone has experience with these speakers and if they have done a cabinet
swap with them? I am thinking that if these drivers were mounted in a bigger box, it would
let them breathe and resonate better and bring them to life!
Any ideas?
Cheers,
