Hi, my name is Jürgen and i'm new here since i've got a pair of old JBL 4310 monitors. They are driven by 2112, 2105 and LE20-1 so the later version.

Cases have dents, scratches and are crudly made. You can cee nailholes and poor paint application. One of the tweeters ist damadged, it has only 1,2Ohm.

First the glued bezels from the bottom edge and the tweeter must be removed to reach the screws among them. I've used some heat and a sharp knife.

Beautiful job Jurgen! I hope you can find a new LE20! I saw a pair on Dutch Marktplaats some time ago.

Was it only primeror was it a primer with "spachtelmasse" (putty) in it?

Yes Martin, it was a primer with putty. I've allready got a pair of LE20-1 :)

Thanks for the answer, I have a pair of 4301 cabs in sad condition so that kind of primer should work wonders. I already repaired 4 completely chipped corners :(

I love well documented restore projects like this one. Always pickup up some tips
that can be useful later :)

the veneer looks like oak in some pics and like walnut in others ?

Know i'm ready with the woodwork of the first cabinet. The new LE20-1 has an impedance of 4,2Ohm, seems well. So i put the drivers in again to try it. L-Pads ar only treated with T-6, better cleaning will follow soon.

Works well!

Thank you! T-101 is on the way :D

But don't underestimate these wonderful Sonys. Including the SS-3100 it's an comlpete active setup.

These are GORGEOUS

I too had the TA-3200F! Almost McIntosh-like build quality.

A bit off topic, but would you mind talking about the differences/similarities between the vintage Sony gear and that Accuphase amp?

The Sonys are a little bit older, they are from the early 70s. Phono adjustment at the TA-2000F is supermodern for that time, including MC options. In my case this is not important, because i use a Lundahl LL 1681 to fit my DL-103. The ability for active amping together with the TA-4300 is much more important to me. The SS-3100 sounds much better, active driven. 4310 sounds better with the E-202. I think the reason is the better damping factor of the Accuphase. Missing a test with active driven 4310 from the Sonys.

Sensitivity of both tuners in nearly the same. In comarison, the ST-5130 is a little bit sounded on the bassy side.

Thank you! I will order some and switch them. What is the difference between "Open End Position" and "Throug Hole" in mounting style?
